In 1921 , in Grodno, as a result of the unification of the unions of working and studying youth, a Komsomol organization arose, in the ranks of which there were 25 members, united in 4 circles

"My small Motherland is my microdistrict"

 Our small homeland, the micro-region "Forty", is rich in wonderful people who have made a great contribution to the dynamic socio-economic development of the modern regional center, enhancing the cultural and sports traditions of the city of Grodno.

Members of the Council of the Museum of Military and Labor Glory of the College have deeply studied their micro-region. We recorded 188 memoirs of the inhabitants of the region, war and labor veterans.

On the territory of the micro-region "Forty" grew up and became Olympic champions:

   The Grodno branch of the state institution is located on the territory of the microdistrict - a research and production center (Institute of Pharmacology and Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus), founded by Academician, Doctor of Medical Sciences Yu.M. Ostrovsky. Yuri Mikhailovich Ostrovsky was a prominent specialist in the field of vitaminology and the regulation of metabolism, narcology, and oncology. A museum in memory of Ostrovsky was created at the institute. A modest office, which contains the lifetime works of the academician, awards, family photographs. In the words of his student and follower, candidate of science Tarasov Yu.A., Yuri Mikhailovich was a titan of science, a personality born once in a century. Ostrovsky's favorite proverb: "No need to swear and shout, you need to kiss with your soul." His qualities were: modesty, kindness and intelligence.

The Museum of Grodno Medical University has existed since April 1982. The portrait gallery (62 portraits of professors) was opened on 01.10.2007. The first entry in the guest book was made in 1980 by the Minister of Health B. Petrovsky: "To teach, treat, seek and put into practice the achievements of science."

A mineralogical museum operates in secondary school No. 16 on Sukhombaev Street. The collection of museum exhibits - 800 items. The creator, inspirer, heart of the museum is Zhdanyuk Vladimir Anatolyevich, he is also the head of the stone processing workshop, organizer of expositions and trips to collect valuable stones.

In gymnasium No. 2 on Boldin Street, a room of military glory was created, where 2 expositions are located. One of them is dedicated to Colonel-General Boldin Ivan Vasilievich and is called the "Legendary Commander". Commander-in-Chief of the 50th Army, participant in the defense and liberation of the Grodno region from Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War. Honorary citizen of the city of Grodno. A street in our microdistrict is named after him, a memorial plaque is installed on the building of gymnasium No. 2. The second exposition is dedicated to war and labor veterans of the microdistrict.

A memorial plaque was installed on one of the houses along I.N. Skrynnik Street, on which it is written: "I.N. Skrynnik, 1920-1944, one of the leaders of the anti-fascist Komsomol underground in the Grodno region, a member of the Bialystok underground regional committee of the LKSMB." Ivan Nesterevich is buried in the mass grave of Soviet soldiers and partisans in the Zhiliber city park.

A memorial plaque to M.A. Tkachev was installed along Builders Avenue at house No. 27. Mikhail Alexandrovich - Belarusian historian and archaeologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, awarded the F. Skorina medal. Tkachev is one of the authors of the multi-volume "History of Belarusian Art". Co-author of "Essays on the Archeology of Belarus". He owns over 400 scientific publications.

College students are proud to study in one of the best educational institutions in the country, which is located on Agadil Sukhombaev Street. There is a memorial plaque dedicated to A.Sukhombaev on the college building; in the college museum there is an exposition telling about his feat.

Members of the Council of the College Museum continue their search, local history work in their micro-region.
