CHAPTER 1

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR LABOR SAFETY

1. This Standard Instruction establishes labor protection requirements for a hairdresser (hairdresser-fashion designer).

2. A hairdresser (hairdresser-fashion designer) (hereinafter referred to as a hairdresser) by profession is allowed to persons who have undergone a medical examination in accordance with the established procedure, briefing on labor protection and fire safety, with electrical safety group I.

3. The hairdresser is obliged:

3.1. observe the rules of internal labor regulations;

3.2. perform only the work that is assigned to him;

3.3. comply with the work production technology, apply methods that ensure labor safety;

3.4. comply with the requirements for labor protection and fire safety, know the warning signals in case of fire, the procedure for action in case of fire, the location of the primary fire extinguishing equipment and be able to use them;

3.5. notify his immediate supervisor, and in his absence, another official of the organization about any situation that threatens the life and health of people, about each accident that occurred at work, noticed malfunctions of equipment, tools, about the deterioration of their health, including manifestation of signs of acute illness;

3.6. strictly follow the rules of personal hygiene, be in clean work clothes, special shoes, correctly use personal protective equipment (hereinafter referred to as PPE) in accordance with the conditions and nature of the work performed;

3.7. keep premises, equipment and furniture clean;

3.8. know how to provide first aid to victims of accidents.

4. The hairdresser is not allowed:

4.1. be in a state of alcoholic intoxication or in a state caused by the use of narcotic drugs, psychotropic or toxic substances, drink alcohol, use narcotic drugs, psychotropic or toxic substances at the workplace or during working hours, smoke in unspecified places;

4.2. perform work without the use of PPE, work clothes.

5. During work, the hairdresser may be exposed to the following hazardous and harmful production factors:

5.1. increased voltage in the electrical circuit;

5.2. sharp edges of the cutting tool;

5.3. chemical harmful substances in the air of the working area (hair dyes, varnish, detergents, disinfectants, etc.).

6. A hairdresser who does not comply with labor protection requirements is held liable in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

 

CHAPTER 2

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS BEFORE STARTING WORK

7. Before starting work, the hairdresser must:

7.1. put on clean work clothes and special shoes;

7.2. remove bracelets, watches, rings for the duration of work;

7.3. prepare a towel for personal use;

7.4. check by external inspection:

  compliance of the workplace with safety requirements. If necessary, put it in order, remove foreign objects, clear the approaches to equipment, furniture;

  availability of valves for hot and cold water taps, condition of floors, working equipment;

  sufficient illumination of the workplace;

  completeness of the equipment used, electrical appliances, inventory. The use of faulty equipment, electrical appliances, furniture and inventory is not allowed;

  the presence of instrumentation, signal lamps, time relays, glass integrity, electric water heater hot water taps and others;

7.5. place in a convenient manner tools, perfumes and cosmetics, tools, fixtures, containers with disinfectants.

8. It is not allowed to keep sharp, fragile and breakable objects (scissors, nail files, wire cutters, glass rods, bottles, etc.) in pockets.

CHAPTER 3

REQUIREMENTS FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY DURING THE PERFORMANCE OF WORK

9. When performing work, the hairdresser must:

9.1. perform only the work that is included in the range of his professional duties and for which he is trained;

9.2. use equipment and tools only for the work for which they are intended;

9.3. clean up cut hair, used wipes, spilled perfumes, cosmetics and disinfectants, water, tools;

9.4. open taps with hot and cold water slowly, without jerking and effort;

9.5. do not block passages to other workplaces, between chairs, to lighting panels, evacuation routes;

9.6. do not accumulate used linen at the workplace, transfer it in a timely manner to a utility or specially equipped place (room);

9.7. do not use the armrests of chairs, mobile tables for sitting;

9.8. turn on and off electrical appliances, a table lamp with dry hands. When removing the electrical plug from the socket, hold on to the body of the plug, do not pull on the lead wire;

9.9. do not disassemble or attempt to repair electrical appliances yourself;

9.10. do not dry wet linen (napkins, towels) on electric heating equipment. Wet laundry should be dried in a specially equipped place for drying laundry;

9.11. use PPE when mixing dye components, dyeing clients' hair, preparing disinfectants, disinfecting tools;

9.12. comply with the safety requirements for the operation of electrical appliances established by the manufacturer.

10. It is necessary to store scissors in a case, carry them and transfer them to another worker in a closed form, rings forward.

11. Cut hair should be collected directly at the workplace, followed by disposal in containers with lids for collecting debris.

12. Replacement of knives of the electric machine must be carried out with the engine turned off.

13. It is not allowed to cut wet hair with an electric razor.

14. When operating electrical appliances, devices, it is not allowed:

14.1. close the ventilation openings provided for by the design of the device;

14.2. use devices without safety nets provided for by the design;

14.3. transfer or move table lamps connected to the electrical network, leave unattended devices and devices in operation, allow untrained and unauthorized persons to operate them.

15. During manipulations with a hot napkin (squeezing, shaking), care must be taken when applying a hot compress to the client's face, beware of hot water splashes when preparing vegetable dyes.

16. The use of homemade cosmetics is not allowed.

  Perfumery and cosmetics used in work must have documents certifying their safety.

CHAPTER 4

REQUIREMENTS ON LABOR SAFETY AFTER THE END OF WORK

17. At the end of the work, the hairdresser must:

17.1. disconnect and disconnect from the electrical network (remove the plug from the socket) the electrical appliances used;

17.2. clean, disinfect sets of working tools, inventory, work table;

17.3. wash containers for disinfection and storage of tools using a brush with detergent, remove disinfectants from working containers;

17.4. tightly close the stoppers (lids) of all vials;

17.5. put away all hairdressing accessories, disinfectants, perfumes and cosmetics in specially designated storage areas;

17.6. turn off work lighting;

17.7. inform your immediate supervisor of all malfunctions that have arisen during work and the measures taken to eliminate them.

18. Remove work clothes, special footwear and other PPE and put them in the designated storage areas.

19. Wash hands with water and detergent, take a shower if possible.

 

  CHAPTER 5

REQUIREMENTS FOR LABOR SAFETY IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

20. In the event of an emergency, the hairdresser must:

20.1. stop work, turn off electrical appliances used during work, take measures to evacuate people from the danger zone and call emergency services;

20.2. report the incident to the immediate supervisor or employee responsible for the safe operation of the equipment;

20.3. take measures to eliminate the causes of the emergency.

21. In the event of a power failure, rupture of a pipeline, a heating radiator, it is necessary to stop work and call the appropriate emergency service.

22. The resumption of work is allowed only after the elimination of the causes that led to the emergency and (or) accident.

23. In the event of a fire or ignition, it is necessary:

23.1. stop working;

23.2. de-energize electrical appliances;

23.3. start extinguishing the fire with fire extinguishing equipment and at the same time report the incident to the immediate supervisor or other official of the organization. If it is impossible to eliminate the source of the fire, it is necessary to report it to the emergency department;

23.4. in case of a threat to health and (or) life, immediately leave the place of fire along the evacuation routes.

24. In case of an accident at work, it is necessary:

24.1. take measures to prevent the impact of traumatic factors on the victim, provide the victim with first aid, call medical workers to the scene of the incident or deliver the victim to a healthcare organization;

24.2. ensure the safety of the situation at the scene of the incident before the start of the investigation, if there is no threat to the life and health of others;

24.3. Report the accident to your immediate supervisor or other official.

25. In the event of an injury and (or) a sudden deterioration in health (increased heartbeat, headache, etc.), the hairdresser must stop working, turn off the equipment, inform the immediate supervisor or other official about this and, if necessary, consult a doctor.
