Developing:  to develop the ability to analyze and summarize the knowledge gained, to analyze and compare, to draw the necessary conclusions.
Educational: education in students of accuracy, patience and creative activity in the classroom.
Method:  verbal visual.
Methodical reception:  logical.
Logistics:  shaving overview video, shaving video, handout, shaving tools, hair styling final test.

Lesson summary
   In 1990, due to the risk of contracting AIDS, shaving in a barbershop was prohibited, but it is impossible to become a real male master without knowledge of shaving technology.
Shave face and head  in a barbershop, it is performed using a straight razor or a machine, a straight razor with a changing blade, so before you start shaving, you need to learn how to properly use the tool.
   The shaving process consists of several stages:

  • performing a hot compress if the bristles are very stiff;

  • applying a fat cream if the skin is dry;

  • soaping stage;

  • shaving for the first time;

  • shave for the second time.

Preparatory work:

  • prepare a workplace;

  • invite the client to the chair;

  • conduct a dialogue with the client;

  • wash hands in the presence of the client and disinfect the instrument;

  • carefully examine the scalp or face;

  • cover the client with linen, using two napkins when shaving the head (one is placed on the shoulders, the second - on the chest, in the form of an envelope, and when shaving the face - three napkins (one is placed on the headrest, the second on the chest, the third, sterile, to perform a compress ).

  • prepare soap foam (shaving cream).

Shaving rules:

  • the soaping process is performed clockwise;

  • the shaving brush is clamped between the fingers so that it forms  narrow band;

  • with the thumb of the left hand, the skin must be pulled in the opposite direction of the movement of the razor;

  • the razor is placed at an angle of 20 degrees to the surface of the skin;

  • the razor is advanced with light shaking movements;

  • when moving the razor, the fingers of the left hand move after the razor  at a distance of 3-4 cm.

  • during the entire shave, the master stands opposite the area that he shaves;

  • the reception of holding the razor depends on the shaving area;

  • the head should be directed to all protruding parts of the face  razors.

Final shaving work:

  • performing a cold compress to remove soap suds;

  • conducting a dialogue to find out if the client is satisfied with everything and  offers of additional services;

  • at the request of the client, it is possible to refresh with cologne, apply oily  creams performing facial massage;

  • removal of hairdresser's underwear;

  • payment for services;

  • cleaning the workplace (wash the sink, remove hair from the dressing table and chair).

Lesson summary

Shaving technology.

   Before you start shaving your head, you need to do some preparatory work.

The process of shaving the head consists of two stages: lathering and shaving. The soap suds is applied in a clockwise circular motion, standing in front of the client, moving from the crown to the marginal hairline and back to the crown again.

   When shaving the head according to hair growth, the master holds the razor with the first step, shaving begins from the crown. The left temple and the right cervical angle are shaved with the second method of holding the razor.

When shaving the head against hair growth, the main technique for holding the razor is  second. Exceptions are: the parietal zone, the left temple and the right cervical  injection.

  • Inflate a round or oval balloon.

  • Draw the head shaving patterns on the ball.

  • Apply shaving cream.

  • "Shave" the ball so that it does not burst. If the ball bursts while shaving, then you injured the client with a razor. Repeat the exercise until you achieve that the ball remains intact.
